Clarkson has a rich history and heritage in the business since its establishment in Kenya in 1958. The Clarkson journey started with 2 companies, H. Clarkson & Southern Co. Ltd and Ernest A. Notcutt & Co. Ltd in the United Kingdom. We now have a presence in four countries in East and Southern Africa. Clarkson operates in Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Uganda. The Ugandan office was first established in 1972 but closed due to political instability at the time. The office was however reopened and has remained operational since 2004 and is currently the leading locally owned (by local shareholding majority) insurance brokerage firm in Uganda. Clarkson is licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda with a significant market share and profitability. Clarkson is also a member of the Insurance Brokers Association of Uganda. We have in excess of 100 years combined staff experience in dealing with large Corporate, Parastatal, Financial, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Retail entities.
