David Nyende is a Public Sector Financial Reform Specialist and a Certified Public Accountant with over 40 years of experience in Uganda, Nigeria, the UK, (West) Germany, Kenya, Tanzania, and South Sudan.
As the Principal Partner at Continental Partners, his specializations include assurance (audit) services, general consultancy, public sector management, capability building/talent enhancement, taxation, fraud & financial investigations, project management, and corporate recoveries.
He started his working career in Nigeria in an audit firm (D. O. Alalade & Company) before moving to the UK where he qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA). In 1987 he joined Makerere University as the University Bursar and moved on to be Director of Finance & Accounts at Uganda Posts & Telecommunications Corporation (UPTC). In mid-1991, he relocated to Nairobi, Kenya to work for an International Environment NGO as a Finance Manager followed by a stint at the United Nations (UNCHS-Habitat) as a Deputy (and later) Chief of Finance.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Makerere University; is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK (FCCA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) of Uganda. He holds a Post Graduate Specialty Certificate in Forensic (Fraud)& Investigative Audits from the Business School of the University of British Columbia, Canada.
